Chelsea seal dramatic win over Arsenal
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea side scored twice late on to seal a dramatic 2-1 Premier League victory against London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the Gunners ahead early on with a strike in the 13th minute but they failed to capitalise as Chelsea bounced back with two goals in the last seven minutes of regular time through Jorginho (83′) and Tammy Abraham (87′).
Having secured their first comeback victory of the season, the Blues are currently in fourth place with 35 points, while Arsenal stay in 12th on 24 points after suffering their fourth consecutive home defeat.
Following the defeat, new Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta said, “I am really disappointed with the result and the way we conceded the goals and the timing of it.
“It’s decision-making. It happens. It will happen again for sure, but when it happens against this type of opposition, you get punished.
“We had to sustain that level for longer periods against a very, very physical team like Chelsea. We have to move on.”
