Kedah demolish Tai Po FC
Malaysia’s Kedah got off to a flying start in the AFC Champions League Preliminary Stage with a 5-1 win over Wofoo Tai Po of Hong Kong at the Darul Aman Stadium yesterday.
Playing for the first time in front of close to 20,000 supporters at home, Kedah found themselves ahead as early as the fourth minute through Tchétché, with the Ivorian striker tucking away his second in the 21st minute.
Things went from bad to worse for the visitors in the 34th minute as Sun Ming Him was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Tchétché.
And in the second half, Muhammad Hadin Azman put the game beyond all doubt with two goals to give Kedah a 4-0 lead.
Wofoo Tai Po pulled one back through Chan Man Fai but it was too little too late as Tchétché bagged his hat-trick two minutes into added time.
Head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak’s Kedah will next face FC Seoul in the Playoff round on 28 January.
