Kim Swee set to be replaced
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) have confirmed that national Under 22 (U-22) head coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee will not be given a contract extension beyond 2019.
FAM General Secretary, Stuart Ramalingam, revealed the news to Bernama when he was contacted today.
“Ong’s (Kim Swee) contract as the head coach of the U-22/U-23 which runs out at the end of 2019 will not be renewed,” he said.
This comes a day after the Malaysia U-22 squad failed to progress to the semifinals of the SEA Games 2019 in Manila, Philippines.
The Harimau Muda were only able to pick up one win (against Timor-Leste) from their four group matches.
