Spaniard Aarón Ñíguez joins JDT

BREAKING NEWS – Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT) has just recruited a new Spanish player to be a part of the squad.

They are pleased to announce that Aarón Ñíguez Esclápez or Aarón Ñíguez from Spanish club Real Oviedo, has been signed as JDT’s new foreign player for the upcoming season.

A little background on Aarón – during his career, he competed mainly in Segunda Division, which is the Spanish second tier. Besides that, he also had a couple of brief loan spells in Greece and Scotland before eventually returning to Spain with Valencia and then later joining Almeria in 2011. He finally got a taste of the Primera Division with Elche CF in 2013.

“Ñíguez, a product of the Valencia academy, previously played for Real Oviedo, Tenerife, Braga, Elche, Almeria, Recreativo de Huelva and Celta de Vigo. He plays in a false-9, second striker, attacking midfield, and both left and right wing positions,” said a JDT club representative in a recent press conference.

Not to forget, the 29-year-old Spaniard was once listed as World Soccer Magazine’s “Top 50 Most Exciting Teenage Footballers” alongside Karim Benzema, Juan Mata and Gareth Bale back in 2007. I guess he is still as exciting as he was back in 2007, I mean, c’mon, look at the way he looks, I mean talent!
