Van Dijk set to be offered RM268m deal!
Premier League leaders Liverpool are reportedly ready to offer defender Virgil van Dijk a new deal worth RM268 million.
According to Football Insider, the 28-year-old Dutch international, who joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018, is set to be offered an improved five-year contract at the club.
The new deal will see van Dijk earn up to RM803,331-a-week in addition to bonuses that could potentially take it beyond RM268 million across its entirety.
It is said that club owners Fenway Sports Group regard it as a “priority to extend the contract of someone they regard as instrumental”.
Van Dijk won the PFA player of the year award on his debut season and has played every minute of Liverpool’s record-breaking campaign thus far.
