Vertonghen torn over Spurs stay
Defender Jan Vertonghen revealed that he will draw up a list of “pros and cons” to decide whether he will stay with Tottenham next season.
Vertonghen joined the club in 2012 but with his current deal set to expire on June 30 and a lack of game time under Jose Mourinho, the Belgium international’s future in London appears to be uncertain.
“I’m in a process right now that I have to grab a piece of paper and write down the pros and cons of the options I will have soon,” said Vertonghen on Belgian show De Kleedkamer.
“I will really have to decide what I want in my career. In three to four years, I will normally return to the place where I will likely settle down.
“I have to start thinking about where I still want to live, what language I want to learn, what culture I still want to live in.
“And also very importantly: which competitions and prizes I still want to win. I don’t want to regret anything in my career.”
The 32-year-old has made 228 appearances for Tottenham in the Premier League.
