There are so many ways you can show your support to a friend who’s trying to lose weight. If you’re clueless as to how, check out this article.
1. Be part of their journey
You may not have a weight problem but you can try to join your friend at the gym, working out at the park or even giving them ideas and motivating them to eat healthily. The good thing about this is you’ll also feel better about yourself and improve your fitness level.
2. Don’t be a diet police
There’s a fine line between being supportive and pushing them too hard. It’s okay to remind them about their diet once in a while but you also have to remember that losing weight is not easy. You need to be extra careful when dealing with them.
3. Let them know how their journey inspires you
“Your healthy meal makes me want to start eating healthy too!”, lines like this can 100% motivate your friend. Don’t be shy to offer compliments as they truly deserve it for all the effort they’ve been putting in.
4. Always check on them, not their progress
Stop asking how much weight they’ve lost every time you meet
them, instead ask how they feel about everything. Do they feel overwhelmed, do
they need a friend to share something they are not very sure of and etc.
5.Celebrate with them
You may think this is probably the easiest thing to do in this article, right? That’s not the case, because your friend may want to eat or drink excessively during this celebratory period, so you need to be the one who reminds them of how far they’ve come. Of course, you should celebrate with them but make sure to do it mindfully.
