Eating too much in one sitting can cause a lot of health problems. Check out what you can do to avoid overeating.

1.Find out the culprits

No doubt that eating requires our full attention but most of us do it while watching TV, talking to friends, and even driving. Overeating normally happens when you are not concentrating on your food. A review of 24 studies found that being distracted during a meal led people to eat more. We’re not making this up. Science proves it.

2.Do not eat straight from containers

Eating anything straight out of containers can destroy your diet as you tend to consume more food than needed. Next time, take out the food and put it in a proper plate so the amount of food is visible. 

3.Manage your stress

Do we even have to explain this. We’re 100% sure you’ve been in a situation where you’re sad or feeling off and you decided to turn to food for comfort. It’s completely normal but maybe in the future you can opt for healthier options.

4.Chew your food

Eating quickly also can lead to overeating. From now on train yourself to chew your food. Studies suggest that taking time to chew your food can reduce overall food intake and increase the feeling of fullness.

5.Be goal-oriented

Always remember your goal, remember why you’re doing this, whether to lose weight, to keep fit or etc. Knowing the reason why you need to stop overeating might work. Keep tab of everything you eat and the amount of food you eat so that you can achieve your goal faster.
