Smalling helps raise £29k for the homeless
Manchester United’s Chris Smalling spent his 29th birthday in an apron at homeless charity Barnabus in Manchester. He was also seen cooking and scrubbing dishes to help out with the charity’s efforts; a sight of Smalling we have never seen before!
“In celebration of my 29th birthday today, I am raising £29,000 for Barnabus to guarantee a fun-filled Xmas period for those less fortunate”, he tweeted. He is aiming to raise money for Barnabus who describe themselves as a Christian Homeless Charity. The charity home provides support to 600 people in Manchester and has even previously received the ‘unsung heroes’ Queens award for Voluntary Service.

Apart from the noble deed that Smalling is a part of, another good news for him is that United have opened contract talks to keep him as a defender at Old Trafford. His current £80,000-a-week deal will end in the summer and according to a source from The Sun, he is looking to increase that figure to almost £120,000-a-week.
Guess he doesn’t have a Small heart, huh? 😉
