More to come

The Football Association of Malaysia President, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, hinted that FAM is ready to enlist the services of more naturalised players to bolster the national squad in the near future.

Following Malaysia Football League’s (MFL) decision to reduce the Naturalised Player Rules period for Pahang forward, Gambian born Mohamadou Sumareh, Datuk Hamidin said, “This decision can be regarded as an opening of a path for FAM to move towards getting a few more naturalised players to strengthen the Harimau Malaya squad in the future. This development will also serve as motivation for Sumareh himself who has just been called up for the very first time to take part in centralised training by national coach Tan Cheng Hoe on Monday.”

“Apart from this, at the same time it will also improve on the quality of competition for the Malaysia League (M-League) which is organised by MFL,” he added.
