Newcastle in for Bale
Premier League side Newcastle United are reportedly ready to spend RM281.32 million for Real Madrid’s wantaway star Gareth Bale in the upcoming transfer window.
The 30-year-old Welshman has been unhappy in Spain for some time, and it is now expected that he will leave Madrid this summer.
According to FourFourTwo, three clubs are heavy favourites to sign Bale, with Newcastle the most surprising among them.
David Beckham’s new MLS side Inter Miami is the other outfit who are said to be prepared to match his Real Madrid salary, while Tottenham Hotspur are also keen to bring him back to north London.
It has been reported that should the RM1.59 billion Saudi takeover go through in the coming weeks, Newcastle would have a large amount of money to spend in the transfer window.
Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 for a then-world record transfer fee of RM473.42 million and has won everything on offer there.
