Ronaldo rape investigation reopened by LA Police
The Las Vegas police department have reopened an investigation into the claim that Cristiano Ronaldo raped a model back in 2009.
Kathryn Mayorga claimed that Juventus superstar Ronaldo raped her in a bathroom at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in the early hours of June 13, 2009.
According to court papers, she vocally said, “no,” to the player’s advances, but he apparently ignored her pleas. Afterwards, she claims he fell to his knees and apologised.
The ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United player spoke out in a video on Instagram just hours after her lawyer filed court documents about the case.
“No, no, no, no, no. What they said today? Fake, fake news. They want to promote themselves by using my name. It’s normal. They want to be famous to say my name, but it is part of the job. I am a happy man and all good,” said Ronaldo.
The LA Police announced that the case was re-opened on Monday.
